Introducing my Homemade Cranberry Sauce!

Super easy to make with just 2 ingredients you will need to buy.

First of all, this homemade cranberry sauce is actually refined sugar free unlike most recipes or shop bought sauces out there. 

Due to the ease of this recipe this sauce is ready in just 10 minutes!

Making it the perfect sauce to make for Christmas or your Sunday roast.

Cranberry Sauce Ingredients

It’s as simple as adding the fresh cranberries, maple syrup, water and salt to a pot and simmering!

Because cranberries on their own are extremely bitter, I have naturally sweetened these with maple syrup which means no refined white sugar.

Creating this delicious and colourful sauce perfect for serving up at Christmas or even at Sunday roast.

If you’re looking to make this for Christmas day you’ll be pleased to know you can make this a few days in advance meaning less things to make on the big day.

Just store it in the fridge in a container and serve on the day.

There are many ways to use this cranberry sauce, here are a few ways I like to use it.

Cranberry Sauce Baked Salmon

Baked Salmon

It goes incredibly well on top of salmon before baking in the oven! 

As a result the sweet and bitter cranberry mixture works so well on top of salmon and brings some colour to the Christmas table.

Creating the most delicious colourful dish to serve up to your guests.

It’s something they won’t have tried before and will be asking you for the recipe.

Another way in which I like to use this sugar free cranberry sauce is as a dip for potatoes!

It works as the perfect dip with crunchy potatoes.

Cranberry Sauce Potatoes

Simply roast sliced potatoes, place them onto rosemary and serve up with the cranberry sauce and it’s a brilliant Christmas starter/side to share.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup water
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  • Simply add all the ingredients into a small pot over a medium/low heat
  • Once the cranberries soften (2-3 minutes) gently press with a fork until mashed
  • Continue to simmer until the sauce thickens to your desire consistency

Notes

TIP: store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
