Optional Seasonings
- Paprika – is great for a warm, smoky kale chip flavour.
- Onion Powder – has a delicious umami flavour.
- Garlic Powder – would be great with onion powder or on its own.

- Kid friendly – Kids love cheese! A great way to make this a little more kid friendly is to add some parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast to this crispy kale recipe.
How to make Air Fryer Kale Chips
Step 1: Firstly, preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F). Rinse the kale leaves and dry with a paper towel or use a salad spinner. Remove the tough stems from the kale leaves and tear them into bite-sized pieces. You could also cut them on a cutting board.
Step 2: Place the kale pieces in a large bowl. Drizzle olive oil and a pinch of salt over the kale and use your hands to massage the oil evenly onto each leaf. This helps to ensure that the leaves crisp up evenly in the air fryer.
Step 3: Add your chosen seasonings and shake well until the kale is evenly coated.
Step 4: Place the seasoned kale leaves in a single layer on the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to allow for proper air circulation and even cooking. Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 3 to 4 minutes. Give it a shake halfway through.
Hint: Note that cook times will vary based on your brand and the size of your air fryer. Keep a close eye on these crispy air fryer kale chips the first time.
