Healthy Cacao Shake

One thing I really missed when going dairy and refined sugar free was a chocolate milkshake! I started playing round with a few ingredients including cacao powder and fresh mint leaves. I finally came up with something that isn’t just a far healthier option but tastes a lot better in my opinion.

2 small glasses (roughly 750ml)

Prep: 2 mins



  • 1 ripe medium avocado
  • 500 ml of unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 2-3 table spoons maple syrup
  • handful of fresh mint leaves
  • tablespoon of chia seeds (optional)
  • juice of 1/2 a lime
  • pinch of salt


Add all the ingredients together into a blender and blend until smooth, add more milk if you prefer it thinner texture.

Tip: Leave it in the fridge for 30-60 minutes to make is more refreshing or blend a couple ice cubes into it.
