Basil Hummus

Very quick, refreshing and zingy hummus that goes great with everything.

3-4 servings

Prep: 3 mins



  • 1 can chickpeas
  • Juice of 1/2 a large lemon
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove (sliced into small pieces)
  • handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 3-4 pinches of salt
  • 2-3 pinches of pepper


Drain the tinned chickpeas and then simply place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

  1. I have recently discovered your recipes, after being diagnosed with (possible) M.E.
    so far I have made the cacao milkshake, which was delicious, the “snickers” flapjacks, which my teenage son, devoured.
    I am currently making your sweet potato/ hummus recipe. I believe this may be the way to go, as I’ve had 2 fantastic days, without symptoms.
